From the very beginning of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a diverse cast of characters, and a thrilling plot including celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in influence within the urban setting.
Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the initial group of characters who will branch out from the primary party to begin their independent quest, distinct from the other two tables.
This warrior group features the determined fighter (played by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Given a large ensemble, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be impossible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might look unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the party knows exactly where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the story’s plot—used The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading the secret base, striking the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then settled his obligations and fled to a fortified location in the remote area, north of Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a individual motive to leave the city the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, wants retribution.
- The adventurer is familiar with the region and advises that it is a hostile location.
- The strong character and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to kill the target and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as important members in the powerful family could enable the team access areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The grateful character vowed a eternal obligation to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The rogue and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The healer betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them no alternative but to head to the remote area in quest for the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
Based on episode three’s Cooldown, we discover that the warrior group will not appear next week, leaving the remaining eight cast members to assemble the Questers and Schemers groups.
